For more than 70 years, @hamiltonwellandwater has been a trusted name in well water systems across Western North Carolina — and under the leadership of Scott and Ashley Alexander, that legacy of dependable local service continues. Whether it’s a new well, emergency pump repair, or advanced filtration system, Hamilton Well & Water approaches every job with honesty, expertise, and the mindset of helping a neighbor.
@hungerfreetc is working to ensure no neighbor goes without access to healthy food. The organization has grown from a single mobile food pantry in 2018 into a countywide effort. At the heart of their mission are four weekly mobile markets that bring fresh food directly to areas where access is most limited. Powered by an incredible team of volunteers, these markets are about more than distribution — they create connection, care, and support for thousands of residents across the county. In 2025 alone, The Hunger Coalition served more than 17,000 individuals, proving the impact a community can make when it comes together around a simple belief: Everyone deserves good food.
From family homes and vacation rentals to commercial spaces, @green.go.cleaning.co is helping keep them sparkling clean with dependable, high-quality service rooted in care for both people and the planet. This family-run business takes pride in delivering consistent, detail-oriented cleaning tailored to each property’s needs. Their professional crews use non-toxic cleaning solutions made in-house, and as a Living Wage Certified company, Green Go is equally committed to supporting the team behind the work.
At @hunter_subaru, buying a car is about more than finding the right vehicle — it’s about feeling cared for every step of the way. Family-owned since the 1940s, the dealership has built its reputation on integrity, honesty, and treating every customer like family. For Gala Rice, who’s been part of the Hunter Subaru team for 25 years, the process starts with listening. Whether someone needs more room for a growing family, better fuel economy, or updated safety features, her goal is simple: help customers drive away feeling confident, supported, and excited about their next adventure.
For more than a decade, the @transylvaniaeconomicalliance has worked behind the scenes to help Transylvania County grow in ways that protect the character people love most. From attracting high-wage jobs and supporting local industry to advancing thoughtful redevelopment projects, the Alliance is focused on creating long-term opportunity without losing what makes this community special. Recent efforts include bringing Nature Trails to the area, supporting expansions like CW Williams, advancing the future Pardee Campus redevelopment, and completing a new 40,000-square-foot industrial facility at Sylvan Valley Industrial Center — all with an eye toward sustainable growth and quality of life.
Grounded in access, respect, and empowerment, @throughthetrees828 is determined to keep expanding as WNC’s only nonprofit tech refurbisher. As founder and executive director Yvette Brooks puts it, “We’re working toward a future where every person in the county can confidently navigate – and fully participate in – the digital world.” Behind this work is an intergenerational team with four full-time staff members and nearly 20 volunteers, from “tween-agers” to retirees. Stop by their downtown Brevard store to learn more.
May is a time of growth, and at @pisgahcollective in Brevard, that growth is supported by a dedicated team of educators who guide and encourage young learners each day. Through patient guidance, outdoor exploration, and child-led learning, the staff helps create an environment where children feel supported as they build confidence, curiosity, and meaningful connections with the natural world.
@theophilus_brevardnc – affectionately known as THEO to locals – is so much more than a shopping destination. For Martha Carlton, owner and founder, it’s a reflection of her faith, gratitude, and community. Since opening in 2009, the clothing boutique has been a cornerstone of Brevard’s Main Street, offering an eclectic mix of women’s apparel, jewelry and accessories, home goods, and thoughtful gifts. Every item in the store is carefully curated and selected by Martha herself, sourced from all over the country and abroad. “We want to help people with what they need and a little bit of what they want,” Martha says with a smile.
As a full-service real estate firm, @fisherrealtync offers far more than residential sales. In a constantly shifting real estate landscape, Fisher Realty remains grounded in what has always mattered most: taking care of people. On a typical weekday afternoon in Transylvania County, kids arrive at @cindyplatt.bgc from 12 area schools. By early evening, nearly 300 children and teens will have passed through the doors, studying, playing, talking, and simply being kids. Just a few years ago, the Club served close to 180 children per day. Today, capacity has expanded to an average daily attendance of more than 260 youth, but, as CEO Jamie Atkinson emphasizes, not at the expense of quality. “We’re growing very intentionally,” she says. “Every decision we make is about how we can best serve kids.” Discover more at their website: bgctransylvania.org.
